It wasn't pretty, but the Celtics found a way in Game 6
After Boston’s 95-86 Game 6 win in Philadelphia on Thursday, there will be a Game 7 between the Celtics and 76ers at TD Garden on Sunday (time still TBD).
It should be an awesome environment. Should be. The Garden is widely regarded as one of the loudest buildings in the NBA when Celtics fans are on their game, but that hasn’t always been the case this postseason.
Part of that is the team’s fault. They’ve had a couple lackluster performances at home, including in Game 5 of this series. But more than a couple people have noted that the Garden crowd has been a bit lackluster itself at times.
Celtics star Jaylen Brown has noticed as well, and he wants to see that change for Sunday. After Game 6, Brown called out C’s fans and called on them to step up their effort for Game 7.
“I’m hoping that it’s gonna be loud and it’s gonna be rocking. Celtics fans, they love to call us out, right? So I’m gonna call you guys out this time,” Brown said. “The energy in the Garden has been OK at best all playoffs. Game 7, if you there, or if you not there – if you in your home, if you watching at a bar, if you watching down the street at a friend’s house – I don’t care. I need you to be up. I need you to come with the energy, because we’re gonna need every bit of it. No excuses. We need everybody. So I’m calling you guys out. Let’s make sure the Garden is ready to go.
“…When the Garden gets going, there’s nothing like it. I’m expecting Game 7 to be a great basketball environment, and I’m looking forward to seeing you guys there.”
Challenge issued. We’ll see on Sunday if Celtics fans are up to it.
