The Celtics are living to see another day thanks in large part to Jayson Tatum making a bit of history.

For the team it was a 121-108 win in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, pushing away elimination in the Celtics' best-of-seven series against the Heat. (For a complete box score, click here.)

For the player it was another postseason performance that separated him.

Tatum finished with 31 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in a game the Celtics' desperately needed him to step up in.

He wasn't alone in helping the Celtics' key second-half surge, with the center duo of Daniel Theis and Enes Kanter combining for 23 points and 17 rebounds. There was also Jaylen Brown's 28 points, with Gordon Hayward, Marcus Smart, Kemba Walker and Theis also going for double-figures.

But it was Tatum's 21 second-half points that proved most important in allowing the Celtics to get a Game 6.
