It's been an eventful offseason already for the Celtics as Brad Stevens has moved to a front office role and Ime Udoka has been hired as his replacement.
In an interview with The Athletic, Jayson Tatum commented on the moves and what he's seen already with his new coach.
"It was a lot at first with all the changes, especially with the coach and front office," he said. "But change is good sometimes. I'm excited about my new coach, Ime."
Tatum added: "I got to know him a little bit. I think what stands out the most is when you're coming up as an assistant and get your first head coach job, you're driven and motivated."
Stevens said he seeked input from the players on the next coach, so what did Tatum say?
"All the guys that were finalists, I liked all of them and I had somewhat of a relationship with all of them. I basically told (Stevens) that we can't go wrong," he said. "It's their job, the front office, to make those decisions and it's my job to go out there and play. So that's basically what it was."
The Celtics forward seems to be looking forward to playing for Udoka.
"From the conversations I've had with him since he's gotten the job, I can tell he's just really, really excited," Tatum said. "So it's going to be fun and we're going to try to accomplish something big."
