Luke Kornet's Dallas tour guide

The terminals of Dallas Love Field Airport were filled with green on Monday night as Celtics fans arrived in Dallas to support their team in the NBA Finals. For Bostonians searching for recommendations, Luke Kornet, a native of the Dallas “burbs” where he spent his middle and high school years, is here to offer guidance as your tour guide – with a heavy focus on dining experiences.

Barbecue: Texas barbecue is a true staple, and Luke is here to get you acquainted with some of the best barbecue joints in the area.

Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q and Terry Black's Barbecue.

General Dining: You can’t grow to be 7-foot-2 without having some good meals. These are some of Luke’s favorites in the Dallas area.

Babe’s Chicken Diner House, Cane Rosso pizza, and the favorite, Chicken Express – “Fried chicken. Gravy. Corn nuggets. Sweet tea. Delicious.”

Best Things to Do: The city is 385.8 square miles, but what are the best things to do?

1. Eating

“Just the southern food. Sweet tea, frankly.”

2. Go outside

“The good thing about the weather is year round you can kind of just go outside and play.”

3. Texas Rangers games

The Rangers are on a West Coast road trip. However, if there is a Game 6, it will be during a three-game homestand against the Royals.

Something to watch for: Armadillos, which are only found in the southern part of the country.

“Armadillos. You see some of those sometimes. A lot of the time, unfortunately, on the road, not alive. Armadillos is something I kind of miss seeing. That or, like, some Longhorns.”
