Marcus Smart makes NBA All-Defensive First Team for second straight year

Basketball writers and broadcasters have once again confirmed what has been clear to Celtics fans for years: Marcus Smart is one of the best defensive players in the NBA.

Smart was officially named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team Tuesday night for the second straight year. Smart received 57 First Team votes and 38 Second Team votes from the panel of 100 voters.

Joining him on the First Team are 76ers guard Ben Simmons, Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lakers forward Anthony Davis and Jazz center Rudy Gobert.

The Second Team features Clippers guard Patrick Beverley, Bucks guard Eric Bledsoe, Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard, Heat forward Bam Adebayo and Bucks center Brook Lopez.

Two other Celtics received votes, as Jayson Tatum got 20 Second Team votes and Jaylen Brown got two.
