The Nets have reportedly locked up superstar Kevin Durant through his prime, as multiple reports say that the two sides have agreed on a four-year contract extension.
Durant, who battled a hamstring injury for much of this past season after missing all of his first season with Brooklyn due to an Achilles injury suffered during his final playoff run with the Warriors, was otherworldly for the Nets in the playoffs, averaging 35.4 points per game in the seven-game classic against the Bucks. Durant nearly led Brooklyn to the Eastern Conference Finals without Kyrie Irving and with a hobbled James Harden.
Durant signed a four-year deal worth $164 million to come to Brooklyn back in 2019. This four-year extension is worth $198 million.
The 32-year-old has now earned more than half a billion dollars in on-court earnings, according to Boardroom.
Durant is a two-time NBA champion, a Finals MVP, a scoring champion and an 11-time All-Star. Despite playing in just 35 games for the Nets last season, he shot 53.7 percent from the field and averaged 26.9 points per game. For his career, he is averaging 27 points per game.
