The Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement with Nick Nurse to become their next head coach, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Nurse, 55, was the head coach of the Toronto Raptors from 2018-2023, winning an NBA Championship in 2018-19, his first season as an NBA coach.

Nurse was the coach of the Rio Grand Valley Vipers, the G-League team for the Houston Rockets, from 2011-2013 under now Sixers president Daryl Morey.

The Sixers fired Doc Rivers on Tuesday, May 16th, two days after the team's disappointing blowout Game 7 loss in Boston in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Celtics.

Rivers, 61, spent three seasons with the Sixers winning 49, 51, and 54 games, respectively, in his three seasons as head coach. However, Rivers failed to get the Sixers past the second-round of the playoffs, blowing a 3-2 semifinals series lead against the Boston Celtics.
