Well, here's the wildest Celtics rumor of the offseason yet.

According to Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Heavy.com, the Celtics "are making a late push" for Rockets star James Harden.

Robinson adds that the Celtics are "frantically" trying to deal Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker for picks and other assets that would appeal to Houston.

All that said, the Nets and 76ers are still believed to be the favorites to land Harden, according to Robinson.

Harden has reportedly demanded a trade from Houston and has been angling for Brooklyn, even rejecting a reported extension offer that would have made him the first $50 million per year player in NBA history.

Harden has led the NBA in scoring each of the past three years, averaging 34.3 points per game this past season. He won the NBA MVP Award in 2018 and has finished in the top three in voting each of the last four years.
