Celtics sign former No. 2 overall pick Jabari Parker

The Celtics made an interesting move Friday night, reportedly signing free-agent forward Jabari Parker to a two-year deal. Shams Charania was the first to report the deal.

To make room for Parker on the roster, the Celtics are waiving forward Moe Wagner, according to Charania.

The Celtics officially announced both moves later Friday night.

Parker was the No. 2 overall pick by the Bucks in 2014, but hasn't lived up to expectations. He did average 20 points per game in 2016-17, but has otherwise generally been in the 12-15 point per game range.

Parker, who is still just 26, has really struggled since a trade from Atlanta to Sacramento last year and had gotten into just three games this season, averaging a measly 2.7 points per game, before eventually being waived on March 25.

He has also battled numerous injuries throughout his career, including two ACL surgeries.

Wagner was acquired by the Celtics at the trade deadline and had averaged 1.2 points and 2.1 rebound in nine games with Boston.
