Stephen A. Smith is accusing the Celtics of leaking the Ime Udoka story.

On ESPN’s “First Take” Wednesday, Smith ripped the Celtics for letting speculation run wild.

“Ain’t none of our damn business, unless you fire him,” said Smith. “But if you keep him, it’s none of our business. It should’ve never been put out there by the Celtics organization, and don’t tell me you didn’t it, because you absolutely did it.”

On Wednesday night, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted that Udoka was facing a “significant suspension” for violating team guidelines. Shams Charania followed up a couple hours later, reporting that Udoka was involved in an “improper and consensual” romantic relationship with a female staffer.

Wojnarowski reported Thursday morning that Udoka is possibly facing a yearlong suspension.

Meanwhile, the Celtics are silent.

Smith surmises the Celtics leaked the story, because it’s inconceivable that somebody with another organization would be privy to the info.

“News reporters got it, so it emanated out of Boston,” he said. “Somebody in LA or Utah or something isn’t leaking this stuff about the Boston Celtics. This is on ya’ll.”

Later, Smith said Udoka is unfairly facing scrutiny in comparison to white coaches and athletes.

“There are plenty of white folks in professional sports doing their thing,” said Smith. “I don’t see any information out about them.”

What a mess.
