Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown offer another reminder why they're NBA's best duo

Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are the best duo in the NBA, and they proved that again in Wednesday's 125-114 win over New Orleans.

Brown was 15-for-21 from the field and 3-of-6 from three and finished the game with 41 points along with 12 rebounds. Tatum had 31 points on 10-for-22 shooting (3-for-8 from three), 10 rebounds and four assists.

The last time the Celtics had multiple players with 30 points and 10 rebounds in the same game was Antoine Walker (36/11) and Paul Pierce (30/10) on March 7, 2001 vs. Milwaukee.

When speaking on their cohesiveness, Brown said, "I don't think this is the best you will see."

Brown and Tatum as a duo have each scored 30 or more points 19 times so far in their careers.

"When you get to that point in the NBA where you know you need each other, it's a very powerful thing," interim coach Joe Mazzulla said.

Together, Tatum and Brown are averaging 58 points per game this season, which is the highest of any duo of the NBA.

The Celtics didn't have to face the Pelicans at full health with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram out, but without Marcus Smart and Robert Williams, the Celtics displayed why they're the best team in the NBA, with the best duo.
