It looked like the Celtics were going to force a Game 7 — for a few minutes. But that didn't last, as Golden State's core proved once again why it's among the best the NBA has ever seen. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are NBA champions for the fourth time after winning Game 6, 103-90.
The glaring number that stands out in this one: 23 Boston turnovers. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who's watched the Celtics throughout the postseason. When Boston has struggled to take care of the basketball, it's gotten ugly. That was the case once again on Thursday.
In an NBA Finals elimination game, Jayson Tatum only managed to score 13 points on 6-for-18 shooting (1-for-4 from deep). Although he turned the ball over five times, Jaylen Brown still had a strong offensive showing. He went 12-for-23 from the floor (5-for-11 from deep) to finish with 34 points. Robert Williams finished with 10 points, seven boards and five blocked shots.
Curry earned Finals MVP honors, capping off his excellent series with 34 points on 12-of-21 shooting.
