Danny Ainge discusses what's next for him after stepping down from role with Celtics

Following the Celtics announcing Danny Ainge has stepped down from his role as president of basketball operations, many wondered what is next for the 62-year-old.

Will he retire? Will he stay on with the Celtics? Will he join a new organization?

It seems even Ainge himself doesn't know.

"I don't know what my future holds; I don't have any plans," he said during the team press conference Wednesday. "My goal is to get Brad [Stevens] up to speed on the draft as our whole staff will be able to help in all of that and try to make this transition and put the Celtics in as good a place as we can be. I'll think about the future somewhere in the future."

He added: "It's rare in this business where there's so much public scrutiny about every decision you make where you come in and you leave 18 years later and you're closer and better friends than when you came in. That's what I'm most proud of, is relationships and looking forward to the next chapter."

Rumors have already surfaced that the Jazz are interested in bringing him aboard their front office, but obviously nothing has been confirmed at this point.
