Charley Casserly explains genesis of issues between him, Bill Belichick

In January of 2010 on WEEI, Bill Belichick famously said, "Who's been wrong more than Charley Casserly since he left the Redskins? His percentage is like a meteorologist." Belichick was referring to Casserly reporting Tom Brady was playing with three broken ribs. Monday morning Casserly went on Dennis & Callahan and explained why he thinks Peyton Manning played better than Brady in the divisional round, but also to explain what the issue is between he and Belichick. Casserly was asked: What is the genesis of your problems with Bill Belichick? Why does he not like you and why don't you like him? "First of all, you're assuming the second part of it there that we don't like each other, OK? Don't assume that one, we'll leave it at that," he said. "Here's the thing, I broke Spygate and we all know Spygate is true, OK -- before anybody did," Casserly added. "The conception is Spygate was broken by the Jets on that opening game, but you go back to the middle of the year before, I broke Spygate and Belichick went off, twice in the same week, OK. He attacked me, he didn't deny it. I have multiple proofs, OK? That was it and it died. Nobody else touched it. Nobody in the country touched it, OK? I did it on national television. He did say I had the guts to put my name to it, which is fine. But, I was right. "Then, as you remember, there was another incident with Tom Brady playing with broken ribs, do you remember that one? Do you remember the denial by New England? I broke that story too and then he denied it. That is where that quote came from. "Then, I came back the next week and said it again, OK? Then there was a third time, OK, where I'm guessing a little bit on this one. The first two I remember clearly. There was an argument, and I may be wrong on this incident, but there's something there. "There was an argument -- I was right on the story I know that. There was an argument at practice between [Tom] Brady and [Randy] Moss. I reported it, OK? Well, Bill went off again. I'll won't say what happened after that, we'll leave it at that, OK? No excuse me, he went off on me, but he didn't deny it. I was right on that on too, OK? So that is basically it. I was right on that on too, OK? So that is basically it. I went on television, said those things, Bill reacted to them, I was right on all three, OK? Don't assume the second part of your statement there about my relationship with him."
