Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson have had quite the chemistry on the field this season, but that wasn’t quite the case on Sunday.

In the second quarter of the Vikings-Bears game, Cousins tried to connect with Jefferson in the back of the end zone but overthrew the rookie phenom.

In the empty stadium, the mics picked up on Jefferson venting his frustration with the veteran quarterback.

“F—k, Kirk! Come on, throw the ball,” he shouted.

The “throw the ball” part suggests the Jefferson thought Cousins held on too long rather than misfire in his direction. In fairness, Cousins was under pressure and trying to escape in order to get the throw off.

Of course, as anyone who has watched Cousins over the years, they could relate to Jefferson’s frustrations.

Whether or not this is a precursor for things to come between the two remain to be seen. It’s likely just a competitive heat of the moment, although Adam Thielen and former Vikings receiver Stefon Diggs have voiced their issues with Cousins before.
