NBC Sports Boston's Kyle Draper heading to Sacramento for play-by-play duties

A familiar face is moving on.

NBC Sports California announced it as hired longtime Celtics pregame and postgame show host Kyle Draper to serve in the same capacity for Sacramento Kings games while also executing play-by-play when Mark Jones is on assignment for ESPN. Former NBA player Doug Christie is the Kings' broadcasts' other announcer.

The affable Draper has worked at NBC Sports Boston since 2009, primarily manning the studio before and after games. He also did some play-by-play during his tenure, a role he also served while previously working in Chicago.

"It is an honor to join the Kings broadcast team and I would like to thank Vivek and the organization for this amazing opportunity," said Draper in a statement. "For generations, Kings fans have demonstrated an incredible devotion to their team, and I can't wait to connect with them while beginning a new chapter in Sacramento."

Draper has also worked in Washington and Louisville as a sports anchor and general news reporter.
