There are a number of head coach and general manager openings across the NFL going into Week 17 and that number will grow in the coming days.

As is always the case, several members of the Patriots are being mentioned when it comes to some of these openings.

According to NFL Media, Patriots front office consultant Elliot Wolf has been mentioned when it comes to the Lions' GM opening following Bob Quinn being fired earlier in the year. This has been Wolf's first year in New England.

In addition, Josh McDaniels and Jerod Mayo are reportedly in the mix to replace Bill O'Brien as head coach in Houston and then Nick Caserio has been mentioned as a possible general manager. The Texans did not have a GM this season.

It's worth noting that none of these people have been requested for interviews, just mentioned as being possibilities for these openings.

The market for these openings, and others that become open over the next few days, will heat up this week.
