Antonio Brown: 11 days with Patriots 'best experience of my life'

FOXBOROUGH -- Antonio Brown only spent 11 days and one game with the Patriots during the 2019 season, but according to what he said Sunday night, it was even better than winning the Super Bowl last year with Tampa Bay.

“It was the best experience of my life being here," he said. "Bill Belichick is one of the best coaches, preparing the players, on the field and off the field, discipline, and he walks around these same hallways and walks around the building to go to practice. It was amazing being a player and seeing the preparation, and the details that he goes over to make sure his team is prepared. Being able to talk to him after the game was an honor.”

The wide receiver was released by the team after numerous issues came up off the field prior to his arrival, including sending a woman, who he allegedly sexually assaulted, “intimidating” text messages.

Brown recorded seven receptions for 63 yards in the 19-17 win over the Patriots Sunday. He was happy to get the win for his quarterback, in what was his return to Gillette Stadium.

“This is where it all started for me and Tom," he said. "I had the opportunity in 2019 to come here and be a part of the great organization that the Patriots are, and to be able to be in this position two years later and to be here it is definitely God’s plan. I was grateful to be out there with Tom and do what we desired to do.”

Brown added: “Just imagine being with an organization for 20-plus years, and having so much success and building so many relationships. He started a family and his kids were born here, and had so many different memories and moments. Knowing Tom, he is the ultimate competitor and a true winner and a true leader, and you know he was going to bring the intangibles. We knew what this game would entail for him. As soon as the season started, we knew what this would entail and it is great to come out here with him and get the win tonight.”

Tampa Bay is now 3-1 on the year.
