Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson reportedly ‘engaged to be married’

Yet another wrinkle was added to the strangest story in sports on Tuesday morning, as Katherine Rosman of The New York Times included this nugget in her latest piece, “Bill Belichick Was Always in Control. Then He Met His Gen Z Girlfriend:”

“She has hobnobbed with celebrities, promoted political causes and somehow amassed a real estate portfolio worth more than $8 million — all to the bewilderment of the coach’s fans and those close to him, many of whom consider her a distraction or worse. And Ms. Hudson has told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.

The story goes into great detail about the relationship, with the following three subsections working as mini chapters for the piece:

- ‘Permissibility of Non-Conformity’
- Jordon’s Version
- A Fisherman’s Daughter

If you are endlessly fascinated by the relationship the football world cannot stop talking about, then I highly encourage you to give this piece from Rosman a read.

This is just the latest bit of reporting on Belichick and his girlfriend 49 years his junior. Earlier this month, Meadowlark Media’s Pablo Torre published an episode of his podcast “Pablo Torre Finds Out” in which he and two guest hosts did a deep dive into Hudson, with reporting suggesting the six-time Super Bowl champion met the former Bridgewater State cheerleader while she was just 19 years old, and alleging the Hancock, ME native was banned from the University of North Carolina’s football facility.

This reported banning comes in the wake of a disastrous interview from Belichick on CBS News Sunday Morning, where the former Patriots head coach had been planning on promoting his new book in a safe environment on national television. Instead, the story became about Hudson, who was shown and heard in the final package for air as a meddling hanger-on who was attempting to quarterback talking points from a position off camera.

Since that interview, Belichick has continued his book tour while simultaneously participating in clean-up duty, sitting down for softball interviews with ESPN, “Good Morning America” and Ryan Clark’s “The Pivot” podcast (Clark and Belichick worked together on “Inside the NFL” last fall). In each of those interviews, Belichick was given a question on Hudson. And in each interview, he made it clear that Hudson had no involvement in his dealings with UNC football and was purely a part of his professional life as someone who helps him stay organized with non-football opportunities.

This story is not going away. And if what The New York Times is reporting is true, it’s only going to get crazier and louder.
