Bill Belichick holds Rhamondre Stevenson in pretty high regard.
Stevenson has had a breakout season, grabbing hold of the Patriots' top running back gig from Damien Harris in the process. He’s making contributions both on the ground and in the passing game, and is well on his way to becoming one of the top dual-threat backs in the NFL.
But Belichick is so fond of Stevenson that he apparently couldn’t stop raving about him during a production meeting.
During the NBC broadcast of the Patriots’ Thanksgiving game against the Vikings, Jason Garrett shared just how effusive Belichick was in his praise for Stevenson.
"He probably talked about Rhamondre for 15 minutes,” Garrett said, via NESN’s Zack Cox. “And he compared his growth in a short period of time to both Tom Brady and Lawrence Taylor."
Stevenson obviously has a long way to go to reach that level. But it's never a bad day when Belichick is name-dropping you in a sentence that includes Brady and Taylor.
