The man who was within earshot of Bill Belichick for the better part of the past 24 years in Foxborough will reportedly have a new job in 2024.

Berj Najarian, who served on the Patriots' staff since Belichick was hired in 2000, will be joining Boston College's staff this coming season under new head coach Bill O'Brien according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.

Najarian will reportedly serve as the chief of staff for the Eagles' football program. He worked with O'Brien during his two stints as New England's offensive coordinator.

As the Patriots' director of football/head coach administration, Najarian managed the day-to-day logistics in Foxborough and, according to Belichick himself, was somebody who "did the non-football stuff". Belichick told the Boston Globe in 2019 that, "as a head coach, you deal with a lot of non-football things that relate to the job." Najarian did that, and then some, successfully in New England for 20+ years. He now moves on to a similar role at Boston College.

What this means for Belichick is interesting, considering that Najarian was assumed to be a part of the head coach's staff wherever he landed next. Belichick will serve as the headline speaker at a University of Nebraska clinic this coming April. Beyond that? His future's a mystery.
