the greg hill show: bill belichick joins the show following the patriots 34-0 loss to saints
Following the Patriots’ 34-0 loss to the Saints on Sunday, Bill Belichick went to the podium and said his team has to “start all over and get back on a better track than [they’re] on right now.”
What exactly does that mean, to ‘start over’ after Week 5? He was asked, but failed to answer.
“Starting over.”
Belichick did, however, clarify his comments during his weekly Monday appearance on WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show:
“We’ll just take a look at everything,” he explained when asked what he meant on Sunday. “Obviously we didn’t do anything well enough yesterday.”
“Fundamentals is definitely a part of any successful play or game,” New England's head coach continued. “That’s part of it. I mean, there’s obviously other things. We’ll look at everything.”
Belichick was later asked if he’s the right person to lead the Patriots ‘restart’:
"I'm going to do the best I can to help our football team," he 'answered'. "That's my job."
Does he think his message is still landing?
"I'm going to do the best I can to help the team," Belichick said.
Belichick also spoke on Mac Jones, his decision to move on from kicker Nick Folk, and more on Monday’s edition of WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show. You can listen to the full interview here.
