When Bill Belichick spoke to the media on Wednesday, he did not have anything to say regarding the potential addition of Jamie Collins. But, the move became official shortly thereafter and he's been on the practice field the last two days.

This is Collins' third stint with the team, so what does Belichick see in him?

“Jamie has experience in our system," he said Friday. "Feel like he gives us some depth at that spot. He has some versatility. We’ll work through it here and see how it goes.”

The 32-year-old was released by the Lions after two games this season. In those games he totaled 10 tackles and a QB hit.

Belichick didn't commit to him playing Sunday, but it would seem likely.

“We’ll see," he said. "I think that really depends really on how things go today and then we’ll talk about the roster and all that after today’s practice and tomorrow.”

It's unclear exactly where Collins fits in the defense, but Belichick knows better than any coach in the league how to get the most out of the athletic linebacker.
