One of the takeaways from Cam Newton's tell-all video on his YouTube page last Friday discussing his release from the Patriots was that he felt "bamboozled" following his medical trip to Atlanta for a check-up on his foot.
The quarterback thought he did everything right, but then when he returned to New England he needed to miss five days because he wasn't tested for COVID at the Patriots' facility. He needed to be since he's unvaccinated.
Appearing on The Greg Hill Show Monday, Bill Belichick was given the chance to respond to the claim.
"I think we've already covered all that," he said.
Belichick added: "Look, I have nothing but respect for Cam and everything he did here. We said that after he was released. My feelings towards Cam have not changed."
Mac Jones ultimately won the job and Newton was released. The rookie performed well in his debut Sunday against Miami, meanwhile Newton remains a free agent.
