Following the Patriots' 27-20 loss to the Texans, they are now 4-6 on the year and now need a lot to go right and their way to have any shot at making the playoffs.
According to FiveThirtyEight, they now have a seven percent chance of making the playoffs.
Speaking after the game, Bill Belichick said he still believes in his team.
"It's disappointing, but we'll turn the page here and move on," he said. "Still have a lot of confidence and belief in the team. If we just do things a little bit better then the results will be different and better. But, I don't know, we just couldn't do it today."
The Patriots will now have to win virtually all their games the rest of the way, beginning against Arizona next week.
Specific to the game, Damien Harris' usage was a bit questionable as he had five carries on the opening drive, but then just one touch over the next 17 plays.
Belichick said it wasn't injury related and wouldn't expand any further.
Given Houston coming into the game ranked last in defending the run, the decision to go away from it was rather curious.
While Belichick believes in his team, a lot needs to happen for them for them to suddenly turn things around and have a realistic shot at the playoffs.
