Bill Belichick to attend Tom Brady Night at Gillette Stadium
The greatest quarterback of all time is set to be honored and retired in the Patriots Hall of Fame this Wednesday evening in a massive ceremony at Gillette Stadium. And now we know his coach will be there to help him celebrate.
As first reported by Chad Graff of The Athletic and confirmed by WEEI, former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will be in attendance Wednesday evening at Gillette Stadium for the celebrations to honor Tom Brady. This will mark the first time Belichick returns to Gillette Stadium since parting ways with the team he coached for 24 years in January.
Fans and media alike have been wondering for months since the parting of ways between Belichick and the team he coached to six Super Bowl championships as to whether or not he would return to honor the quarterback under center on all those teams. Conditions between Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft have been a bit strained if not awkward in recent months, but it appears all personal feelings will be set aside for the tribute to Belichick’s QB, the man of whom he said, “There’s no other quarterback I’d rather have than Tom Brady.”
This will not mark the first time Belichick and Brady have been in the same building since Belichick’s tenure with the Patriots came to an end with a home loss against the Jets this past January. Belichick famously attended and participated in the roast of Tom Brady on Netflix on May 5, delivering some of the biggest laughs. Now he’ll have a chance to get to relay some stories about one-half of the greatest NFL duo of all time, as well as receive the adulation, love and cheers from the fans he richly deserves, but was not able to get in his final game as head coach.
