Broncos starting running back Melvin Gordon was cited for driving under the influence late Tuesday night, five days before Denver's game against the Patriots in Foxboro, according to a report from Mike Klis of 9News.

Gordon was also reportedly ticketed for speeding by 25-39 mph over the speed limit. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 13.

It is currently unclear if this will affect Gordon's status for Sunday. It's possible the Broncos or the NFL step in and suspend him now, or they could wait until things play out in court before issuing any discipline.

Gordon signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Broncos this offseason after spending his first five seasons with the Chargers.

He has 281 yards rushing and three touchdowns through four games this season and is coming off his best outing yet, as he had 23 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns in a Week 4 win over the Jets.

The Broncos have not yet released any statement or comment on the situation.

On Sunday, Gordon complained on Twitter when the NFL moved Patriots-Broncos back a week after a fourth Patriots positive test.

UPDATE: The Broncos have now issued the following statement:
