Following Tom Brady signing with Tampa Bay this offseason it was widely reported he wanted to bring Antonio Brown with him.
Head coach Bruce Arians was on record saying the team would not be interested, but things changed this weekend.
FOX Sports' Jay Glazer explained what changed and also spoke to Arians about what his message will be with Brown once he gets in the building.
“The first week when Tom Brady signed with the Buccaneers he brought it up to their head coach Bruce Arians. Bruce Arians said absolutely not," Glazer said Sunday. "He has a bad history with Antonio dating back to their time with the Steelers. Back then Tom said, ‘OK, what if when he’s able to come back our receiving core is beat up?’ And Bruce said, ‘If that is the case maybe I won’t dislike him so much.’ That is exactly what’s happened, where they’ve been. Antonio Brown, even though the Seahawks though they had a shot, they did not. He was always intending on signing with the Buccaneers.
“By the way, I talked to Bruce Arians this morning. He said my message to Antonio Brown this week will be, ‘Be a team player or be gone.’”
Brown's suspension expires following Week 8 and he can play in games beginning in Week 9.
