For weeks, many have raved about Tom Brady's impact on the Buccaneers this season, his first in Tampa.
Many have said he's the major reason why the team went from 7-9 a year ago, to now appearing in the Super Bowl.
While part of that may be true, Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said Wednesday Rob Gronkowski's impact in the locker room compared to Tom Brady is "equally as amazing."
“If you’re having a bad day, I suggest any of you just go spend a little time with Gronk," Licht said to reporters. "He just lifts you up just by being with him. He’s funny – we have conversations every day and I look forward to it. I tell my wife, ‘I can’t wait to go talk to Gronk at practice today.’ He’s just being himself, he’s very authentic, he loves the game and when it’s time to be serious, he’s very serious.
"There’s a lot of talk about what Tom has done for this locker room – and it’s all warranted – but what Gronk has done for this locker room is equally as amazing. Just a great teammate and loves life.”
During the regular season, Gronkowski totaled 45 receptions for 623 yards and seven touchdowns. In the playoffs he has just two catches as he's been used more as a blocker.
Tampa Bay will take on Kansas City in Super Bowl LV a week from Sunday.
