The Patriots have a QB problem.
Early in the fourth quarter, Cam Newton was pulled in favor of second-year player Jarrett Stidham. The Patriots trailed 33-6 at the time.
Newton was 9-for-15 passing with 98 yards and three interceptions for a QB rating of 39.7. He added 19 yards on five carries.
The veteran was not sharp at all with his throws and just didn't seem comfortable with what he was seeing. He and the rest of the offense were clearly frustrated on the sideline.
This is the third straight week where Newton has struggled.
The Patriots trailed 23-3 at the half, which marked their second-largest home halftime deficit under Bill Belichick (24 in 2013 vs the Broncos).
