Texans GM Nick Caserio reportedly categorically opposed to trading Deshaun Watson, 'ever'

(SportsRadio 610) -- Texans rookie general manager Nick Caserio has made it clear publicly he is not interested in trading Deshaun Watson, despite the quarterback's trade request.

Apparently at least two teams, and likely more, have checked to see if Caserio would change his mind. According to Peter King's weekly Football Morning In America column, Caserio isn't even listening to offers for Watson.

"At least two teams have given offers to Houston and gotten zero feedback," King reports. "Like, no reaction, no 'We’ll get back to you.' Nothing."

There is a belief the countdown to maximize value in a Watson trade is the 66 days leading up to the NFL Draft, when teams have the most to offer in draft capital.

The Carolina Panthers emerged last week as a team reportedly willing to go all in for Watson.

Other teams believed to be in the market for Watson with viable assets are the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers. The Denver Broncos are also a possibility.

But where the Texans send Watson depends largely on his willingness to lift the no-trade clause in his contract.
