While it didn't come until late last week, David Andrews ultimately re-signed with the Patriots.

It got a little interesting once the Patriots brought back Ted Karras after he spent 2020 in Miami, but late Thursday night it was reported Andrews and the Patriots agreed on a deal.

It's reportedly a four-year deal worth a maximum of $19 million, plus $2 million in incentives. The first two years worth $6.5 million are fully guaranteed. He can make up to $8 million if he plays in all 32 games and then $10 million if he reaches incentives.

Andrews spoke to Scott Zolak on Patriots.com about the decision to come back.

“We’re definitely excited, me and my wife," he said. "This is our home, our heart's here, and excited to get back and go to work. Obviously, a lot of new faces coming in and then we have the rookies coming in, so I am excited to get back and meet everybody and get this train rolling.”

The center is one of the leaders of the team, serving as a team captain the last four seasons, and is looking forward to turning things around after a 7-9 year in 2020.

“It’s definitely the start of turning this thing around," Andrews said of the additions this offseason. "Part of the reason why I wanted to come back is to right this ship, get it to where we need to be going. It’s all kind of said and done if we don’t really put the work in and go back there and get this thing rolling, build on it and just become the best team we can be.”
