Cam Newton will be back with the Patriots in 2021, but how much will it cost them?

The answer is not much.

According to NFL Media's Mike Garafolo, Newton's deal has a $5 million base value, which includes a $2 million signing bonus, $1.5 million base salary (guaranteed) and $1.5 million total in per-game roster bonuses.

The rest -- up to $9 million -- is in incentives for playoffs, Pro Bowl, All-Pro, MVP, Super Bowl MVP, etc. So, the deal is worth up to $14 million.

Once again, Newton is betting on himself.

The Patriots are not committing to Newton and this deal is an indication they will still be looking at addressing the position this offseason, either by adding a veteran or drafting a QB high in the draft.

NFL Media's Ian Rapoport added Newton's market was limited elsewhere.
