Earlier this week, Bill Belichick made some interesting comments relating to the Patriots and this season on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria.
“Look, we paid Cam Newton $1 million. I mean it’s obvious we didn’t have any money. It’s nobody’s fault," he said. "That’s what we did the last five years. We sold out and won three Super Bowls, played in a fourth and played in a AFC championship game. This year we had less to work with. It’s not an excuse, it’s just a fact.”
Appearing on The Greg Hill Show Friday morning, Devin McCourty was asked if he agrees?
“Do I? It doesn’t matter if I agree or disagree. It definitely doesn’t," he said. "I get paid to play free safety. That’s what I do. I am not into all of that other stuff. That is for you guys to decide. You guys get to decide on why we win and why we lose. I am not the expert. I am just a player.”
As for taking on the winless Jets this Monday night, if it hard to prepare for a team that is 0-8?
"As a team that is 2-5, no," McCourty said point blank.
