Following Cam Newton and a Kansas City practice squad QB testing positive for COVID-19 on late Friday/Saturday morning, the league made the decision to postpone Sunday's game.
After both teams continued to test negative, the league rescheduled the game for Monday night on Sunday afternoon, which meant the Patriots had to travel to Kansas City the day of the game.
On Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Tuesday, Bill Belichick was asked if the league consulted with the team ahead of making the decision?
“Those are medical decisions and they are made by the league. And I’m not a doctor," he said.
Belichick was also asked if there were mixed messages being sent by the league, as they had to travel to Kansas City days after a positive test, and then on the other hand there was a league conference call Monday to make sure everyone in the league was fully in compliance with COVID protocols.
“I think there’s a lot of questions," he said. "There’s a lot of uncertainty on a number of levels. It’s hard to know what all the answers are. I don’t know. This is really in the medical area and that’s not my area. I’ll leave that to the medical people.”
The Patriots will host the Broncos Sunday afternoon.
