Tom Brady broke his silence on Saturday about his recent mysterious 11-day absence from Buccaneers camp — but his face might have said more than his words.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner looked notably gaunt and his hair appeared to be a shade or two darker than usual while he spoke with reporters prior to Saturday night's preseason game against the Colts in Indianapolis.

Brady's hiatus was never explained in detail, officially chalked up to "personal" reasons. Bucs coach Todd Bowles said it was an excused absence and had been planned from the outset of camp.

On Saturday, Brady declined to offer much clarity:

"It's all personal. You know, everyone has different situations that they're dealing with. So, we all have really unique challenges to our life. I'm 45 years old, man — there's a lot of shit going on. So, you've just got to try to figure out life the best you can, and it's a continuous process."

Brady's absence touched off a torrent of wild speculation. Early reports knocked down whispers that he or someone in his family was sick, thankfully. One especially humorous theory posited that Brady needed time off to participate on "The Masked Singer."

But Twitter sleuths were certain the answer was apparent:
