Game respect Game, epic troll, or bad idea?
Following the Eagles’ 31-7 dismantling of the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game Sunday, the Empire State Building was lit up green to celebrate the NFC Champions:
While the replies to that Tweet were as savage as you’d expect – ranging from the usual slate of memes to “Theory: Maybe they had that color ready for the Jets and were tired of waiting” to “did y’all lose a bet?” to this gem…
…the fact is that perhaps those who make those decisions decided, one week after Philly waxed the Giants 38-7, to show solidarity to their NFC East brethren after they similarly clobbered San Francisco?
No word on if the Liberty Bell is lit up, but it’s also yet to be discerned how well light would reflect off all the grease any climbable surface in the Philadelphia area has been covered with this weekend.
