As Yogi Berra once said: it’s déjà vu all over again.
That’s how Atlanta Falcons fans felt on Sunday when not only did the team blow another first half lead, it was to none other than Tom Brady.
It was not quite a re-enactment of Super Bowl LI, but Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs managed to erase a 17-0 halftime deficit en route to a 31-27 win over the Falcons.
Of course, it almost felt inevitable that this would happen. Falcons fans have watched the team blow late fourth quarter leads all season, and with Brady manning the offense on the other side, many expressed how they knew this was going to end on social media before the second half even started.
Nevertheless, Brady tossed two touchdown passes while Leonard Fournette rushed for two more as the Bucs outscored Atlanta 31-10 in the second half.
Naturally, fans roasted the Falcons and made all sorts of jokes about Brady’s track record against them.
You mean the Falcons were up at halftime and still lost!! How am I not even a tiny bit surprised 🙄 it’s the Atlanta way. AND against Tom Brady... Man, I’m ready to claim another team - this is just a joke of a program 😤💔 #ATLchokesagain
