While the Patriots will not be playing in the NFL divisional round, a number of former members of the team will.
Of course, the Buccaneers have Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown, but every other team remaining besides the Packers has at least one player who played for the Patriots at some time.
Here’s the full breakdown.
RAMS
Derek Rivers- Rivers was placed on waivers by the Patriots in late November and was claimed by the Rams a few days later. With L.A., Rivers has just two tackles, but is a big contributor on special teams.
PACKERS (don’t have any former Patriots on roster, but AJ Dillon starred at Boston College)
AJ Dillon- As a rookie, Dillon has appeared in 11 games and has 46 carries for 242 yards and two touchdowns.
RAVENS
Jordan Richards- Since being traded to the Falcons in 2018, Richards has been on the Raiders, back with the Patriots for a cup of coffee and then has been in Baltimore since October of 2019. Richards has only logged 14 defensive snaps all year, but is a key contributor on their special teams units.
BILLS
Corey Bojorquez- Bojoroquez was claimed off waivers by the Bills prior to the 2018 season. It was reported the Patriots had planned on keeping him on their practice squad before Buffalo swooped in. He led the league in punting average this season at 50.8 yards per punt. He also tied for the longest punt of the year at 72 yards.
Jordan Devey- Everyone remembers Devey from the 2014 season. Since moving on from the Patriots after that season he has spent time with the 49ers, Chiefs and Raiders. With the Bills this year, he’s been on the practice squad but has been elevated for a few games, including the Wild Card game against the Colts.
BROWNS
Adrian Clayborn- After totaling just 2.5 sacks with the Patriots in 2018, the veteran defensive end had four last year back in Atlanta and then has 3.5 this year with the Browns. He played 84% of the snaps against the Steelers last week, his most action of the season.
CHIEFS
Mike Pennel- Pennel was signed by the Patriots in the 2019 offseason, but was released during training camp. He signed with the Chiefs and has 53 total tackles and a sack in his two years with the team. He sees a decent amount of playing time on the interior front.
SAINTS
Malcom Brown- Brown hasn’t made quite as big of an impact as maybe some expected with the Saints after signing as a free agent in 2019. The first-round pick has 34 and 27 tackles in his two seasons with New Orleans and three total sacks.
BUCCANEERS
Tom Brady- Brady is coming off a 381-yard passing performance against Washington, his fifth-most in postseason play. Overall, Brady has thrown for more than 300 yards in four straight games.
Rob Gronkowski- Gronkowski was more of a blocker against Washington, but in his first season with Tampa Bay finished with 45 receptions for 623 yards and seven touchdowns. In his final year in New England he finished with 47 catches for 682 yards and three touchdowns.
Antonio Brown- The wide receiver seems to be playing his best football since joining the Bucs in the middle of the season. He’s recorded a touchdown in four straight games, including two in the regular-season finale against the Falcons.
