Some big upsets in the NFL in Week 13 led to massive pay days for lucky — or extremely savvy and perhaps psychic — bettors, including one during the Washington Football Team's surprising victory over the previously undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.
But as impressive as that one is, I always get more of a kick out of the bets that border on insanity. Not that placing hundreds of thousands of dollars on a Washington win over Pittsburgh isn't bordering insanity... I'd say it qualifies. But the below bets follow the usual pattern of these weekly betting stories — ridiculous parlays, dart throws and more that left social media stunned and some fortunate people with stuffed wallets.

Giants victory leads to six-figure payout | +5862
The Giants defense celebrates in their surprising win over Seattle.(Abbie Parr/Getty Images)The Seahawks were 11-point favorites, but that didn't sway one bettor from thrusting $2,000 forward and adding the G-Men, led by Colt McCoy, to a four-team parlay. The full ticket went as follows, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
- NY Giants Money Line | +570
- LA Rams Money Line | +132
- GB Packers Alt. Spread (-6.5) | -141
- NE Patriots Alt. Spread (-2.5) | +120
Of course, all four hit, with the final bet hitting by just a smidge more than two-and-a-half points. Another bettor below risked a hefty wage on the Patriots winning by an even larger amount.
Bettor foresees Patriots blowout for big dividends | +900

Like, come on. Justin Herbert is good! The Patriots have not been all too consistent or dominant in any facet of the game this season! So choosing the Pats to win by 43 points is really, really bold, and it still resulted in a modest payday.
I guess that's what happens when you realize that Bill Belichick feasts on rookie quarterbacks and that Anthony Lynn wasn't nearly ready to face off against the greatest coach of all time.
Bettor lays six figures on Jets, and they do just enough | -120
The Jets celebrate in the end zone.(Al Bello/Getty Images)I can't imagine the heartbreak if this bettor had chosen the Jets to win this matchup outright. Luckily, however, the Henry Ruggs Hail Mary didn't push the Jets out of range of their 7.5-point spread, leading to a very profitable outing.
Bettor turns $3 into serious money on 10-team parlay | +53734
Henry Ruggs coasts to the end zone to defeat the New York Jets.(Al Bello/Getty Images)While the Henry Ruggs touchdown didn't hurt the aforementioned six-figure bet on the Jets (+7.5), it actively helped another bettor who laid a substantially smaller bet, but still reaped big benefits.
Along with the Raiders moneyline bet, this ticket correctly predicted tight games such as the Lions-Bears, Colts-Texans and Saints-Falcons matchups.
Jalen Reagor punt return seals huge same-game win | +41597
Jalen Reagor celebrates his punt return touchdown.(Stacy Revere/Getty Images)The changing of the guard, from Carson Wentz to Jalen Hurts, didn't matter after the former reached his 16.5 rushing yards line, but one other Jalen still needed to perform in order for a seven-leg same-game parlay to hit for one FanDuel bettor.
Then, lightning struck.
It was profitable lightning, too, as it ticked the toughest box of the seven and turned a $100 bet into big money.
Beginner's luck? Wild parlay hits for insane win | +1238300
Drew Lock threw for a pair of touchdowns against the Chiefs in Week 13.(Jamie Squire/Getty Images)Imagine placing your first bet ever on a 10-leg parlay... and having it cash!
Drew Lock over 1.5 touchdowns? Guessing the exact range of victory margin for not one, not two, not three, but four games? Sure, why not! Everything worked to perfection for this first-time bettor, and we imagine it'll be hard to replicate the success found here at any time throughout his/her life as a sports bettor.
Trio of unlikely TD scorers reach end zone in parlay | +46336
Isaiah McKenzie celebrates with teammates after catching a touchdown.(Ralph Freso/Getty Images)What was the thought process behind this bet? Let's choose three of the least likely candidates to score a touchdown and throw 'em together?
That's a little bit of an exaggeration, yes, but not much. Gabriel Davis had scored four times entering Week 13, while Isaiah McKenzie had only scored twice. Devin Singletary, Josh Allen, Zack Moss, Stefon Diggs and Cole Beasley were all more likely to score, according to the odds, against the 49ers.
And good ol' Kyle Juszczyk came through as well, converting his third score of the year on 25 touches. All in all, a bizarre win, but a win nonetheless.
Brandon Aiyuk $400 dart throw connects | +1600
Brandon Aiyuk celebrates a touchdown against the Bills.(Christian Petersen/Getty Images)I usually have words to explain the logic behind these decisions, but this one escapes me. There's no way to know which team would get the ball first. There's no way to know what the field position will look like when the touchdown is scored. And there's no reason to question this pick for first touchdown scorer any further, because the fact of the matter is that this bettor won big.
