Gunner Olszewski's snow advice: Drive a Chevy, not a Ford

With the first big snowfall of the season hitting the New England region, it was a topic of discussion Wednesday when speaking via video conference with the Patriots players.

Second-year player Gunner Olszewski had some simple advice.

“If you have a Chevy, you’re good. You going to make it practice,” he said. “It’s them guys driving Fords and stuff that I worry about. That’s the only advice I give: Get a Chevy.”

Although Olszewski grew up in Texas, he went to college at Bemidji State in Minnesota so he has plenty of experience with the snow.

“I think it’s kind of cool, because obviously I didn’t grow up with it,” he said. “So when I went to Bemidji — I mean, it’s way colder in Bemidji than it is New England, so I think I’ll be all right here.”

Safety Adrian Phillips, who also is from Texas, said this is his first ever real snowstorm, but he got some advice from his teammates.

“They gave me some tips, they gave me a shovel and stuff to help me out, they told me about the sand bags and salt bags,” he said. “So I’ve just got to do what I’ve got to do, if I’ve got to get out there and shovel I’m going to do it, just make sure my car is warmed up before I go.”

The Patriots will be playing in Miami this weekend, so they have opted to practice indoors.
