You read it where I wrote it ...
The NFL season starts tonight with Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys. Seventy-thousand fans, Brady, and Gronk along with their teammates get to hang a banner in Raymond James Stadium, and I have to say I’m here for it. Even though Patriots fans may feel conflicted being happy for Brady, I am not one of those people. To me, Tom Brady has become a more interesting story to follow. I’d equate it to watching LeBron James in the NBA Finals. I don’t care who he plays for, I’m watching because it’s about HIM winning another championship. Can he do it? Can he pull it off? Watching Brady now has that kind of feel. No team emotion, it’s all about watching the greatness of the player.

- I have to hand it to Rich Keefe, he called it with Toronto getting back in the American League Wild Card race. I still don’t think they win it, but they’re making it interesting.
- On Saturday, it’s the 20-year anniversary of the attacks on 9/11. I remember being on the air in Providence as it was unfolding. Twenty-six-year-old me had no concept of the worldly events that were unfolding. I knew sports and that was it. I had never heard of Osama Bin Laden. But I got smartened up real quick. I remember how sports healed our country, and the first pitch of then President George Bush in Yankee Stadium. Changed the way I look at the world and sports.
- The AEW ‘All Out’ PPV featuring the return of C.M. Punk was this past weekend and what a return it was. Punk is so captivating and has taken AEW to the next level as a promotion. NOW they’ve added Bryan Danielson, and Adam Cole. The dream matches are endless.
**BIG PREDICTION** AEW will run a stadium show in Jacksonville inside 12 months with Punk vs. Danielson as the main event.
- College football this weekend, Boston College goes to Amherst to play UMass. I’m on the call doing color commentary. I know you’ll watch.
- To THIS point, it’s hard to not like everything we’ve seen and heard from Mac Jones.
- I am growing tired of being a ‘Mustache Man’
- Three random NFL thoughts
1) The New Orleans Saints are very overrated.
2) L.A. Rams QB Matthew Stafford is the Paul George of the NFL. Great stats, no championship DNA.
3) I think Matt Nagy is the first coach fired this season.
- For those who listen to ‘Gresh & Keefe’, yes. I am that picky an eater. FORMER FAT GUY NOTE:
I like Cool Whip right out of the container. Nothin’ else.
- I know we are in football mode right now, but I am very excited for this Celtics season. I think Brad Stevens has built an interesting roster with many lineup combinations and I am intently watching the way Ime Udoka interacts with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. I never thought those two were cross with BStevens, but can Udoka bring out the best in the stars?
- Thanks to Rob Bradford for allowing me to spew my B.S. each week.
