Jeannette Belichick, the mother of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, died of natural causes on Tuesday. She was 98.
Jim McBride of the Boston Globe first reported the news.
Jeannette met Steve Belichick at Hiram Collegein the 1940s and married him in 1951. She gave birth to Bill, their only child, in 1952.
