The AFC Championship Game was all set to be played at a neutral site in Atlanta had the Buffalo Bills won on Sunday.
Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals had other plans, though,
Burrow led the Bengals to a 27-10 win over the Bills in the snow in Buffalo to set up a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
After the victory, Burrow was asked about all the talk about the neutral-site game many fans were expecting between the Chiefs and Bills.
“Better send those refunds,” he said.
It was a little bit of a dig at the fans who purchased their tickets in advance as the Bengals disrupted those plans by playing the role of the underdog.
Of course, the Bengals are not your average underdogs. They are the defending AFC champions who defeated the Chiefs in Arrowhead last year for a trip to the Super Bowl and are looking to repeat that feat.
While the Bills-Chiefs playoff game from last year was an absolute classic that many fans wanted to see again, there is no denying that Chiefs-Bengals, Burrow vs. Mahomes has plenty of draw as well and should be a good one.
