Kendrick Bourne: Patriots work harder than 49ers

FOXBOROUGH -- Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne has only played for two NFL teams -- the 49ers and now the Patriots -- and speaking following training camp practice Monday, he noted a major difference between the two when it comes to training camp.

“I’ve only been at one [other one], obviously. My last team," he said. "But it’s definitely harder. We work harder here. I’m glad to be here, man.”

Bourne added: "I think it’s an overall better place for me.”

The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal worth up to $15 million this offseason.

Bourne, who is competing for the No. 2 or 3 wide receiver role, seems to be fitting in nicely not only in the community, but with his teammates. He already has a handshake with Cam Newton.

“The fans have definitely been embracing me quick,” he said. “I haven’t even played yet, and they’re embracing me. I’m just excited to see, when I play, they’ll show me love.”
