With the NFL Draft fast approaching, Jimmy Garoppolo trade rumors are back.

Since it's a lock the team will be selecting a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick, many do not believe Garoppolo will be on the roster come the regular season.

Speaking to reporters Monday, head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about his quarterback and his status on the roster, but he couldn't guarantee he would be on the roster come next Monday following the draft.

“I can’t guarantee that anybody in the world will be alive on Sunday, so I can’t guarantee who will be on our roster on Sunday,” he said.

Shanahan said Garoppolo's injury history played a role in the team trading up from No. 12, but the team would be "fortunate" to have Garoppolo on the team with the rookie.

General manager John Lynch said Garoppolo is handling the situation like a pro.

“Jimmy’s been a pro,” Lynch said. “He really has. I just spoke to him over the weekend. He’s here, he’s taking part in our virtual meetings, plans on being at the workouts. Jimmy’s been completely professional as he always has been with us.”

The 49ers are rumored to be decided between Mac Jones and Trey Lance with the No. 3 overall pick.
