6 rings & football things: Reacting to Day 2 of NFL Free Agency
The Patriots and Eliot Wolf's attempt at bringing the "Packer Way" (i.e. draft, develop, and extend) continued on Wednesday morning.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, New England has agreed to terms with linebacker Anfernee Jennings.
It's reportedly a three-year deal for $12 million, with a maximum value of $24 million.
After beginning this past season as a healthy scratch in Week 1, Jennings came on strong to finish the year, tallying 66 tackles, 15 run stuffs, and 1.5 sacks (all career highs). The 2020 third-round pick out of Alabama now gets a payday with the team that drafted him.
Jennings is the sixth unrestricted free agent the Patriots have retained in the new league year, joining TE Hunter Henry, WR Kendrick Bourne, OT Mike Onwenu, WR Jalen Reagor, and LB Josh Uche for another stint in New England.
