After benching Mac Jones before the final drive of the Patriots’ 10-6 loss to the Colts on Sunday afternoon in Germany, Bill Belichick was asked on Tuesday if he’ll remain his quarterback moving forward.

“We’ve got a lot of things to work on as a team and we’ll work through those. That’s what we’re going to do this week.”

So… Yes? No? Maybe? It’s hard to tell. This was at 8:03 a.m. EST, so it’s feasible that the plan was to make a decision throughout the day during their Tuesday meetings.

Or perhaps not.

On WEEI’s Jones and Mego with Arcand show on Tuesday afternoon, Mac Jones was asked, at 5:33 p.m. EST, if he’s been told that he’ll be the starting quarterback for their next game, Week 12 against the Giants.

“No, we haven’t talked about that,” the signal caller said. “Really just, today we watched the game film and kinda talked about the plans for the bye week, so. We have practice tomorrow so. Just see how it goes there and the bye weeks a great time to work on things that you can do better so, that’s what I’m going to do. ”

Jones was then asked when hed expect to get an answer on if he’ll be starting:

“Um. I really am not focusing on that and really just focusing on things I can control and focused on that,” he explained. I’ve always done that. I really need to improve, obviously, and that’s what I’m going to focus on.”

Jones also spoke about his relationship with offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, his X-ray following Sunday’s game, and more on Tuesday’s edition of Jones and Mego. You can listen to the full interview here.
