Before the Patriots lost in gut-wrenching fashion to the Raiders on a botched lateral play, their defense yielded a 30-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Keelan Cole with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter. And the catch -- which ultimately helped Las Vegas tie the score -- wasn't controversy-free, as replays appeared to show that one of Cole's feet was out of bounds in the top left corner of the end zone.

After review, officials upheld Cole's touchdown catch, citing insufficient video evidence for an overturn. Whether or not Cole's feet were in-bounds, the NFL is standing by its ruling. Following the game, ESPN reporter Mike Reiss spoke to Walt Anderson, the NFL Senior Vice President of Officiating, who explained that it "wasn't clear and obvious" that Cole's foot was touching out of bounds. Anderson also told Reiss that officials didn't have a down-the-sideline camera angle to aid them in review. NFL Officiating addressed the play, via Twitter.
