After reportedly making a massive trade to move up No. 3 overall in the NFL Draft, the 49ers are still saying they are committed to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the 49ers are in the quarterback mix, but are holding on to Garoppolo and have no plans to trade him.

"Jimmy is here to stay. He's our guy this year," a 49ers source added to Schefter.

For the second straight offseason the 49ers are jerking Garoppolo around, as last year there was their reported interest in Tom Brady and now it's trading up to No. 3 overall.

It wouldn't make sense for the 49ers to trade up that high in the draft without a quarterback in mind. So when they say Garoppolo is their guy for "this year," it truly may just mean for this year. Options for them at No. 3 overall will be Zach Wilson, Justin Fields and Trey Lance.

This doesn't mean the Garoppolo to New England trade rumors will go away, as it likely will only make them grow.

Considering the NFL Draft is over a month away, it should be a very interesting next few weeks.
